In our third and final year, in the Portfolio Production module, we have to make four short films. Two group projects, and two shorter individual projects. For our first group project we had a maximum of five minutes to make our film. We decided to make an experimental film about a man waking up in a room and reliving past events that push him to and beyond the brink of insanity. We were influenced by Darren Aronofsky's 'Pi' and David Lynch's 'Eraserhead' in terms of visual style and also the use of sound. The style we went for was a high contrast black and white look.
We used three actors from casting call pro and filmed it in a day at the Nag's Head pub in High Wycombe, leaving us with two weeks to edit.
