Rock Werchter Festival 2009

I need to update this blog on a more regular basis, but earlier on in the summer a few of us went to Belgium for the Rock Werchter Festival. Were going to go to Reading but couldn't get tickets and I think it was a blessing in disguise to be honest as Rock Werchter was better value for money having four days of music, plus the interesting factor of being in a different country.

The music was great, and the collecting cups in exchange for free cups of alcohol (either Jupiler beer or some cherry/rose beer stuff!) is a great incentive for people to clean up the place. Sure, you might pick up a disease whilst doing it but what can I say it was cost effective! The only downside was the amount of long queues, especially after a couple of us saw Coldplay, it was like a two hour queue back to camp. Also the heat at times was unbearable, I found myself waking up each morning at about eight in a 30+ degrees tent. Still we managed to fashion a sort of shelter across our circle of tents which made life more bearable whilst we waited for the bands to come on.
